the reasons of using orange and blue for background colour

I am using orange and blue as the corridor background colour because two main reasons.

firstly,orange is warm colour and blue is cold colour they are complementary colour of the colour wheel. Basicly, there are 3 models of colour wheel, RYB, RGB and CMYK. In RYB(used in painting ) colour wheel model and Goethe's colour theory orange and blue are comlementary colour, complements make each other appear brighter. for example:  life rafts and life vests are orange because of the ocean is blue. so, when the background colour of corridor changes, people will realize it more than any other colours which are not complementary colour.

Secondly, i choose orange and blue not the other comlementary colours such as red and green, because the character of orange and blue is the certain character that i am looking for. compare red with orange, red is intenser than orange, orange is softer than red, give people warm feeling not hot. compare with green and blue, blue is cooler the green, green is too neutral.

so, consider the two main reasons above, orange and blue is more suit for the corridor background colour.
